It joined the Vistara fleet on 24 May 2019 till it was withdrawn from use on 07 Apr 2023. NX5241M Airworthy P-2 inside the hangar at Planes of Fame Air Museum. The Swiss Air Force needed a trainer to allow easy transition to its Bf-109s. The P-2 was designed using a Bf-109 undercarriage and Argus As 410 engine, first flown on 27 Apr 1945. This P-2 was taken on charge by the Swiss Air Force. Sold to a private owner in the UK in 1981, it found its way to the USA and was acquired by the museum. It is painted in Luftwaffe colors and is being used by the museum’s pilots to transition to the Hispano HA-1112-M1L. (mehr von NX5241M)
VT-EIO Looking the worse for wear, the full fleet of two remaining Do-228s of Northeast Shuttles is parked on the apron at NSCBIA with VT-NER at the rear. VT-IME Afternoon pushback at Chennai International Airport as 6E2316 bound for Delhi. This aircraft was newly delivered on 7 Dec 2021 to IndiGo. Built as an A321-251NX, it underwent a modification to an A321-252NX with LEAP-1A30 engines. Successor to the CFM56-5 series, these engines offer a stated 15% improvement in fuel efficiency. G-PRII Pair take-off by Team Viper at the Cotswold Airshow 2011. The Hunter carries the overall glossy black aerobatic team color scheme of No. 111(F) Sqn "Black Arrows." This Hunter formerly flew the as F.4 WT723 with the RAF before being transferred to the RN. It was converted to a GA.11 and then to a PR.11 with the same 3-camera nose as the FR.10. VT-KNQ On the apron at Aero India 2023. Built for civilian use by HAL's Transport Aircraft Division at Kanpur, the Do-228 is capable of carrying up to 17 passengers. It is powered by five-bladed Garrett TPE-331-10 GP turboprops. With a view to promote Govt’s UDAN regional connectivity policy, the Hindi title "Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik," translated as "Let the common citizen of the country fly" is displayed on the fuselage. NL420GP Airworthy Avenger inside the hangar at the Tri-State Warbird Museum. This aircraft was accepted into USN service on 24 May 1945. It was assigned to short-lived Torpedo Sqn VT-36 that used it as a trainer and carrier qualification aircraft. On 7 Aug 1945 it was embarked on CVE-112 USS Siboney, bound for the Pacific. The war with Japan came to an end before the carrier reached Pearl Harbor. The Avenger was stricken from service in 1949 and sold to the RCN in 1950. After serving for ten years it was sold, serving as a forest fire bomber along the way. It was bought by the museum in 2004. (mehr von NL420GP)

XA564 UK's only FAW.1 on display at RAFM Cosford. Gloster's last fighter was designed as RAF's first all-weather interceptor, entering frontline service in 1956 with No. 46 Sqn. at RAF Odiham. The FAW.1 was powered by a pair of Armstrong-Siddeley Sapphire Sa.6 10201 and 10301 engines of 36.9 kN thrust each that required a cartridge starter. The aircraft was fitted with the AI.17 radar and 30mm cannon. The initial production run of 40 FAW.1s also served as test platforms. A total of 435 Javelins were built and served in seventeen RAF squadrons plus OCUs, many being converted to different marks. (mehr von XA564)
MN235 Sole surviving complete Typhoon on display at RAFM Hendon. With the covers off, one gets a good look at the Napier Sabre 24-cylinder engine, the propeller and a view of the open gun bay doors for the four 20mm Hispano cannon. Good at low level, the "Tiffy" was deadly as a fighter-bomber, armed with two 500 kg. bombs or eight RP-3 rockets. No. 609 Sqn under S/L Beamont flew the first Rhubarb mission in Nov 1942. By D-Day as many as 18 Typhoon squadrons equipped 2nd TAF, wreaking havoc on ground targets in the weeks that followed. (mehr von MN235)
48-626 On display at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Ten of the Arctic rescue variants were ordered by the USAF and delivery started in 1950. The Arctic version could be equipped with RATO, a ski undercarriage and carry twenty stretchers. The STOL aircraft were found to be underpowered and retired by 1955. N2GP Inside the hangar at Planes of Fame Air Museum. The sleek Duke was introduced by Beech in 1968, aimed at the owner-flown segment of the business aircraft market. It was powered by a pair of 380hp Lycoming TIO-541 six cylinder turbocharged engines driving Hartzell three-blade propellers. This Duke Model 60 was built in 1969 and is one of about 125 built. Owners found the engines expensive to overhaul and maintaining the aircraft was likened to a high-end sports car. Later models included the A60 and B60 with modified turbochargers and cabin pressurization. (mehr von N2GP)
