I-DEMW Photo 1 of 4 : Too far, too low... Those familiar with Kai Tak will confirm that Alitalia always added that extra amount of excitement to their approaches. This 747 went beyond the right banking point to runway 13, resulting in this dare-devil approach. The notorious - but since demolished - Walled City of Kowloon can be seen in the lower right. N422AJ is the only Mini Guppy ever built and survives until today in Erickson's Museum in Tillamook / Oregon. The Guppy on the right is Pregnant Guppy N126AJ, also a one-of-a- kind. This Guppy was unfortunately scrapped at the end of 1979. The hangar in the background is the facility where a number of CV-880s were converted to cargo configuration. Most of these were then ferried to Mojave where eventually they were scrapped after never entering airline service. (mehr von N422AJ)
