N4750 "Clipper Rapid" on the way to the parking position at Terminal B after landing from Berlin-Tegel. N4750 came to Pan Am through the takeover of National Airlines in January 1980. C-FTOC In summer 1985, in addition to the regular 8 scheduled flights with Tristars and B.747-Combi, Air Canada operated a charter course to Toronto once a week on Thursdays. D-AERN The only Tristar -200 in the LTU fleet, converted from the -1 series in April 1986 with the more powerful Rolls Royce RB211-524B4 engines, which also powered the Tristar 500. G-ASDC "Plain Jane", leaves the cargo ramp for another flight to Southend. G-ASDC was one of 21 C-54s/DC-4's, that were converted by Aviation Traders Ltd from 1961. The name "Carvair" was derived from the abbreviation "Car via Air". The capacity: Up to 5 cars and 22 passengers. D-ABYF `Fritz`on taxiway W heading for runway 06, today 05R, and for take-off to the canary islands. Clearly visible are the extended Krueger-flaps of the portside wing leading edge. From June 1979, registered as HL7447 and owned by Korean AL, this a/c first operated on lease to Saudia in full colours until October1980. From 1992 until 1996 this first generation 747 was flown by Nationair of Canada, registered as C-FNXA. D-AIBB Originally delivered to Lufthansa in March 1978 , christened "Freudenstadt/Schwarzwald". From spring 1983 until April 1985 D-AIBB was leased to Air Algerie and again for the 1987 summer season to Condor. From January 1988 onwards the aircraft was in service with Air Inter, registered as F-BUAQ and at least for another two years with Onur Air and Anatolia as TC-ONV. D-ABUG In the summer season 1978 Condor operated a weekly flown service JFK-DUS on Sundays. D-ABUG was flown by Lufthansa and Condor for around fifteen years until her sale to Air Zimbabwe, first registered as VP-WKT, in 1981. Since 1988 Z-WKT is withdrawn from use and stored at Harare. G-BAEF Was the first Boeing 727 on the British Register in 1972. Due to the high dense seating, the fuselage of the five Dan-Air London Boeing B.727-46 (ex Japan Air Lines) were modified with an additional passenger door on each side, clearly visible in front of the engines. Last operator of this Boeing 727 was Aerorepublica of Colombia, registered as HK-3480X, and a/c was withdrawn from use in 2001. (mehr von G-BAEF)

D-AMAX named �Maximilian`, an early buildt A300, c/n 12, in the basic colours of the first owner Germanair. D-AHLN Hapag Lloyd bought this Boeing 727 series -81, like sisterships D-AHLL and D-AHLM, from ANA All Nippon Airways in 1972. In 1986 D-AHLN was sold to SAT Fluggesellschaft, later renamed Germania. JA8039 "Tukuba" makes a smokey touchdown at Itami after an other flight from Taiwan. In the early 80s JAA operated a small fleet of DC-8-50/61 and DC-10-40. JA8039 was leased in 1986/87 to CTA-Canafrica Transportes Aereos, registered as EC-DZA and finally this DC-8 was converted to a freighter and flown by Airborne Express as N848AX until retirement in 2007.
