After Modern Air went out of buisiness, N5615 was sold to Denver Ports of Call as N8356C in July 1976 and ended it´s days in 9/86 beeing scraped at Marana,AZ. |
2. | Kenneth Duffey (01-04-2011 05:47:56) I was working for Modern Air Transport in Berlin Teague AP in 1968 when aircraft 615 broke in London and had to divert to Berlin for us to switch out #3 engine.
The passengers about twenty of them were left in London until the aircraft was repaired one of them were Mr. Fisher (bodies by Fisher of General Motors). After the repair the aircraft returned to England to pick up the passengers. Then Modern Air made another first, by flying into Moscow with an all American flight crew (no Russian flight observer on board), the U.S. State Department could not accomplish the permission needed from the Russians to fly into Russian air space until Mr. Fisher made a few calls and then Modern Air was allowed and did land in Moscow and stayed a few days before the final flight leg over the poles.
